Welcome to the Website of the GALENOS-Network
GALENOS-Network is a network in the Pharmaceutical Sciences. It is named after the Greek physician and philosopher Galenos (Galen) who was born in 129 AD. He is considered to be one of the greatest anatomists of antiquity and his writings became the sole source for medical instruction for over a thousand years.
Today, the word "GALENOS" is linked to a network of pharmaceutical departments at over 50 institutions (mostly, but not only Departments of Biopharmaceutics, Pharmaceutical Technology, and Pharmaceutical Sciences) and over 10 industrial partners (i.e. small to large pharmaceutical companies) across Europe.
The name is synonymous with quality education and ongoing research in the Pharmaceutical Sciences with special emphasis on Biopharmaceutics, Pharmaceutical Technology and Advanced Drug Delivery.
The GALENOS-Network and its Euro-PhD initiative receive funding from the European Commission.
